CHAPTER FIVE

After finishing their job at the first location, the trio of warriors settled in for the long walk through the cold night to the next part of their job.

“So, Mike...” Cora said.

“Yeah?” he replied. They’d been walking for about ten minutes now, none of them speaking, alone with their thoughts.

“You’re obviously into inhuman women. And that made me curious...”

“Yeah?” he prompted.

“How many of the different species have you been with?”

He glanced briefly at Leah.

“Hey, don’t look me, babe. I’m not going to judge you. I’m not that kind of girl. I like it if you’ve slept around, cause it obviously gave you a lot of skill,” she said.

He laughed. “Yeah, I guess so. For the record, I’ve slept with all but one of them. The only species I haven’t made it with yet are the squids.”

“Wow. You really are weird,” Cora said. “Uh, I mean, not in a bad way. In a good way. It’s just that, most people, in all the different species, aren’t comfortable with interspecies sex. But even among those that are, they’re usually only into one other species, maybe two. But you are apparently into like everyone. And...”

“And? Come on, Cora. When did you get shy all of a sudden?” he asked.

She laughed. “Sorry. I get a little weird sometimes talking about sex. I was curious, what was it like, your first time with each of them?” she asked.

“Oh, well, that’ll take a little bit to talk about,” he replied.

“We’ve got time,” Leah pointed out.

“That’s a good point. Well, I lost my virginity to a jag. We’d been traveling together for a few months at that point. I was seventeen, still traveling with my parents. She was a few years older. One day, she took me out to an abandoned house and let me, uh, practice sex with her. And it was amazing. After her I slept with my own kind, a woman I met a year later when we were traveling. We just took a liking to each other and hooked up. Nothing particularly special. I slept with humans and jags until I got out on my own. Then I met a rep.

“She was so hot and like fifteen years older than me. I had such a thing for her. I freaking fell for her. We picked up a job together when we met at a town message board. Much like how Leah and I met. We took the job and after we got paid, she propositioned me. We got a room in a motel and fucked all night long. We ended up traveling together for a few weeks. “Well?” Cora asked, grinning at him. “Come on, shy all of a sudden?”

He sighed. “I had a run-in with a nymph.”

“Ooh, I’ve never seen one,” Cora replied.

“Me neither,” Leah said. “Was she as beautiful as I’ve heard?”

“I’m sure she was. I was lost in the woods one night, I didn’t have much on me because I’d gotten robbed. It was a pretty bad time.
